How they have affected the world of online commercials!
Google video ads have taken the online communications world by storm-and how! Now this major search engine is aiming to expand into the virtual and very exciting arena of selling space for video spots on the networks of diverse websites to pull in mega-bucks as well as more publicity for themselves in this smart business move!
While Saul Hansell reported last year that Google video ads were in the pipe line and the company intended taking them up in a big way, at that time predictions were only made judging on the cautious baby steps taking by this search engine genius towards the big market of television advertising. Google video ads started with a big bang and launched their new service that placed video commercials on many different websites where Google sells advertising.
Currently, this marketing mantra have been on-hold for sometime in the sense that Google video ads have yet to fully start expressing themselves graphically in full force on home-turf, i.e. presently Google is not placing video advertising on Google.com or any of the other major sites it runs. The idea of Google video ads on home ground is being considered by the search engine giant for future expansion and outreach plans and there should be an official press release to the same, say insiders at the Google video ads desk. But, for now, the initial excitement generated by Google video ads is so palpable that advertisers from all corners of the globe are clamoring to purchase the relatively limited supply of spaces for online commercials at exorbitant prices. What is really shocking in terms of the publicity and appeal that Google video ads have generated is that website owners are vying to buy the ad-space for Google video ads at rates that are equal to, or even sometimes more, than the rates charged by major networks, if the cost per thousand viewers of Google video ads is measured.
This major business move by the search engine giant, Google, is expected to be in hundreds or even thousands for the group of websites that it intends to target, though the number has not been officially declared by Google. This strategy of launching Google video ads has been a move that is determined by the search engine as a major expansion directive towards enhanced online advertising space to those networks it has established for text and graphical advertising and market-watchers claim that it was indeed a smart business move -and a speedy one- considering Google video ads decision was made public just a week after AOL announced it had acquired Lightningcast, a company selling video advertisements on nearly 150 sites, chief among which, were Space.com and Nascar.com.
Some online web design companies that also sell banner advertisements on other sites were keen on directing attention towards the creative exposure and demand of video ads, but Google video ads have put them out of the reckoning by way of offering such strong competition from established company presence on the web in the realm of sales of video advertising.
